gemma + connor | cozy summer camp wedding at Camp Couch

Gemma and Connor, one of my beautiful 2020…then 2021…then 2022 couples. They were one of my couples who were dealt with all the ups and downs of a wedding during covid and through it all, they remained so chill and planned not only the most beautiful, intimate legal ceremony, in her brothers church house backyard in Warsaw in 2021 but then, an epic weekend long party at Camp Couchiching in 2022.

Now, the best part of their story, Camp Couch is where they met as little kids!! and not only did they meet there, but Connor’s parents did too! How amazing to meet the love of your life in a place where you can share so many lifelong memories.

The day was so my kind of wedding with chill vibes, barefeet, everything (until dinner) outside, kind/fun people, dance offs, full dining room camp chant alongs and so much more.

Gemma and Connor, you two are so my kind of humans and I absolutely LOVE that I was able to document both of your days and celebrate along the way. You two are fab xoxoxo

karissa + dave | charming Compass Rose Wedding in Prince Edward County

In 2018 I photographed a stunning wedding in Toronto for two lovely humans, Vanessa and Rob. Little did I know that I would meet two more incredible people on this day, who would just walk into my life, be huge supporters of my work and become friends (and clients!) along the way, Karissa and Dave. From the second I met Karissa, we connected. She is just the kindest person ever, always smiling, always supportive and I just love her to bits. Dave, couldn’t be a better match for Karissa and over the last 4 years, I have been SO lucky to not only watch their beautiful relationship grow, but document their love along the way. Fun fact: I was in the know when Dave was going to propose in Iceland, and when they got back, we did an engagement shoot in the Beaches.

Of course, like most couples, they had a lot of hiccups and changes with their wedding while the pandemic happened but thank goodness, I was always on the top of their list for “does this date work for you?” so I could still be there no matter what. Thank goodness, because they truly planned the best day…

From the stunning venue of Compass Ross, to the locally sourced florals by Early Grey, to the outdoor ceremony, to the best food by Hawley Crescent, or even to her bridesmaid singing the first dance songs… everything was PERFECT. Not to mention, have you seen Karissas dreamy Luna Bea dress from Lovers Land? or Daves burgandy suit? Everything was THEM and they planned the most fun day filled with things that represented who they are as a couple while keeping the day so beautiful and relaxed.

K + D, to say I love you to is an understatement. I am so darn thankful to of met you both but to have been the person to document your day. It was perfection and I can’t wait to see you two and your newest addition soon xoxo

Danielle + Alex | Rocky Crest Wedding Muskoka

After years of planning and delays, Danielle and Alex FINALLY got to say “I do” and the best part, I got to be the one to document their day!

Their day was absolutely perfect and I have been itching to shoot at the beautiful Rocky Crest venue in MacTier. Muskoka weddings always have a certain look and feel and never disapoint. Well, neither did their day.

When I first met these two, we instantly connected and then we did their engagement photos with their beautiful daughter and puppy (in a Peterborough photography studio), and I loved them even MORE!

We had so much fun together and they planned a very chill, boho party surrounded by amazing friends and family.

Thank you for having me D & A, I love reliving your day xoxo

tamara + patrick | an intimate forest wedding at Whispering Springs Wilderness Retreat

It’s no secret that Whispering Springs is one of my favorite Ontario Wedding Venues. I LOVE that 1-3 times a year, I get to drive to Prince Edward County to be at this beautiful and dreamy Glamping Wedding Venue. I feel so at home here :)

Now this wedding is the wedding of Tamara and Patrick, who were one of my “no matter what!!” couples for 2021. No matter what happened with the Pandemic (and uncertainty that came with it), they were getting married. All that mattered was marrying their best friend and well, I of course am all for that.

Leading up to their day, two weeks prior to their original date, they had to move their wedding. They were patient, calm and went with the flow and thankfully, even with last minute date changes, they were still able to have most of their friends and family present. It was a day full of emotion, laughs and so so much beauty. From the second I arrived, their friends and family were SO kind and caring.

Not only were these two perfect, and their day, but it was a team of all-stars when it came to the vendor team with Hugh Whitaker (at my side, who I called in last minute and he was so amazing as always), Kath Films on Video, Flower Treasures and more!

Thank you Tamara and Patrick xoxo

lauren + james | rainy Northridge Inn Wedding in Muskoka

I met Lauren and James a few years ago when thier dear friends, Mackenzie and Leslie, got married in my hometown. Lauren was in the bridal party and we instantly hit it off. Fast forward a few years, and Lauren reaching out about me documenting their Thanksgiving wedding, I was instantly excited and SO in.

They couldn’t of picked a better venue, Northridge Inn, to have a fall wedding at. The venue is nestled in the forest, on Lake Bernard, just outside of Sundridge ON, which is basically between the Muskokas and Algonquin Park. Northridge has EVERYTHING you would ever dream of. From an island ceremony location to glamping to cabins and rooms for all to a pool and even beaches! Not to mention, the most beautiful reception space and incredible decor throughout the whole space. When I asked Lauren how they chose their venue, she said “We (I?) had really wanted a rustic cottage-y feel to our wedding. We love spending time at the family cottage's in the summer so we wanted the same for our big day! We went to visit the Northridge Inn and as soon as we walked in, we fell in love. It perfectly suited both of our styles- James preferring more rustic, and I preferring more 'on trend' styles. We also loved the fact that at Northridge, we could have the entire venue exclusively to ourselves and our guests for our 'Wedding Weekend'. It was perfect. Like a cottage weekend with a wedding in the middle.

It was super important to Lauren that the rest of their vendors follow suit when it came to vibe and style. With Northridge being pretty all-inclusive, they didnt have to worry about too much more in addition to their booking. They booked me (obviously haha) but then also added a personal vibe by having James’ grandfather conduct the ceremony which made it so special.

When I asked them if they would do anything differently, they said “Well, maybe the weather” because they truly had the rainiest wedding day I have had in recent years. BUT boy oh boy every single person there was a trooper and sat through a pouring rain ceremony and let me take their photos in the rain. The rain added an unexpected element but fun and there truly is nothing you can do, but embrace it!

christie + aaron | Western Trent Golf Club Wedding

Christie and Aaron met in high school and in the same small town that I grew up in. This will age me a bit, but Aaron and my little brother even used to play hockey together. In 2018, Christie reached out to me about documenting their day and when she described what they were looking for in a photographer, I knew we would be a great match.

Christie and Aaron chose Western Trent Golf Club as their venue, a new venue in the Kawartha Lakes for weddings. This venue is an absolute dream and every little decor and detail has been thought of. Not too mention, everyone who works there is so kind and amazing!

In addition to the vendor dream team, Christie and Aaron hired my parents flower shop (The Flower Place in Barrie) to do all the flowers which looked gorgeous with Western Trent as a backdrop and Christie and Aaron of course!

This was a very tough blog to do as I have many many favorites from their day, but here is a little peek at their love story xo

erin + sashar | Whispering Springs Wilderness Retreat Wedding in Prince Edward County

For the last two years, I kept hearing about this venue that ties all things beautiful, outdoorsy and romantic all into one camp like setting. This venue was of course Whispering Springs Wilderness Retreat. A venue you can bring your guests glamping, unplug (there’s no cell service!) and spend a weekend together.

Last December, I got an enquiry from a couple telling me they were getting married at said venue and that one of the things they are most excited for, was having their big beautiful dog present (Finnigan!). Well, if you follow me online, you know dogs are life basically and tie in my love for outdoors, cottage, camping and basically everything these two empower, I knew it would be an incredible fit. (Thanks Matt + Monika for passing my name along!!)

Well, I was right. I spent the day laughing and crying (and dancing and eating Woody’s burgers #dreamwedding) and I couldn’t love Erin and Sashar more. Also, their friends and family treated me like one of their own which doesn’t always happen, and I truly am thankful for that too.

Erin was a planning QUEEN who just so happens to be uber creative too and a good chunk of the decor she made herself AND planned everything for the day perfectly. When I asked Erin, “any planning advice for future couples?” shes said, “Your vendors are everything! These are the people you’re working with on the most important day. If you don’t get along with them on a personal level, you won’t like their final product and you won’t enjoy your wedding day as much. Your vendors will be amongst the closest to you all day so you need to make sure everyone works well together” (Scroll to the bottom to see Erins dream team vendors!).

Erin and Sashar, THANK YOU!!! Your photos still make me cry, laugh and be in awe. Your day was a dream and I am so darn happy you found me (and are letting me share your faces all over the world LOL)

robyn + scott | rustic chic farm wedding in Hartington

As a wedding photographer, you are always hoping to find people who share your same outlook on life, who trust you and your crazy ideas, who make you laugh and just people you want to hang out with on the regular. Well I 10000000% found that in Robyn + Scott. I also have been so lucky to of documented quite a few of their friends weddings too (like Rachel + Matt at Fanshawe Pioneer Village or Rebecca and Pat at Berekley Church or Rosie + Dave at the Story’s Building or Christina and Zach in Grand Bend and Shane + Andrea’s camp wedding at Bark Lake Leadership Centre in Haliburton), all of whom are my kind of people. Nothing means more to me then a friend or client recommending me to someone dear to them, so thank you thank you THANK YOU #teammegan!

Robyn, who is quite the crafty and creative bad-ass business woman(be sure to check out her incredible handwoven skills here), nailed it when it came to the planning and details of their wedding. Every little detail was so beautiful from the Shisha table with string lights and pillows to the black candles and vintage holders to the hand written name tags on plant paper (you plant your name tag and watch it grow!!). Scott had a part in this too I might add haha he built some of the wooden details including the Shisha table for their guests!

In addition to all the beautiful details, Robyns moms property and farm couldn’t of been a more perfect location surrounded by fall colours, long grass and beautiful gardens.

Robyn and Scott, I love you guys and cant wait to see you again. I am truly honoured to of been a part of your day. It will forever be a favorite

kayla + taylor | charming Eganridge Resort wedding in Fenelon Falls

As many people know, Corrigan and I purchased his families old cottage in 2018 in Fenelon Falls and since then, it has been a goal of mine/ours to work more in the area. There are so many beautiful wedding spots in the Kawarthas and Eganridge Resort is definitely one of them. Nothing beats a spot that you can stay at for a weekend with all your guests under one roof and with no traveling around on the day of.

Kayla and Taylor contacted me shortly before we purchased our cottage and I was so excited and eager for their day. Knowing we had mutual friends whom I love, I knew we would be a GREAT fit (thanks Erin!).

Fast forward to their wedding day, they kept it relaxed, simple and invited the sweetest friends and family. The ceremony spot under a giant willow tree on Sturgeon Lake is a dream and the sunset we got to see was amazing. They even included dog treat for everyone to bring home for their pups, those are my kind of people!

Thanks so much Kayla and Taylor for a great day xoxo
