The Story

For those who don’t know, we are big dog lovers (well all animals really) and we currently have two dogs, Gandalf and Hank. Before we adopted Hank, in October 2017 to be exact, we rescued a little baby Newfy mix pup from NEWF Friends who we named Bruce (yes, after Springsteen). Bruce was our baby, our big teddy bear, everyone who met him fell in love. In April 2019 he started to get sick and scary things started happening to him. I spent multiple days a week in emergency vets, specialists and getting 2nd 3rd and even 4th opinions and in the end, the answer never changed. Bruce had cancer and a cancer that couldn’t be beat so we made the awful scary decision to spoil him until we couldn’t anymore. Not even 4 weeks after the first signs, we had to say goodbye to our sweet baby and it was so incredibly hard and still makes me cry (like while I type this!). He was spoiled until the last day. 12 hours after he passed away, I was documenting a wedding in Toronto. I was just keeping it together all day and then there was a moment when a storm was rolling in and to keep from crying, I went out for some fresh air. I was the only person on the balcony 30 floors up and snapped this photo and forever it will remind me of my boy Bruce. Every single dollar of profits is donated to these two rescues to help save boys like ours.
