lindsay + kyle | a backyard wedding in alliston

First off, I am so honoured to have been chosen by l + k to capture their day. After them being together for 9.5 years, and myself knowing them for all of that time, I again, am so thankful I was the one to capture their love!

When you think of a diy wedding, you think of cute crafts, some homemade decor etc. but this was SO much more then a DIY wedding, it was the perfect wedding. So much love,  sweat and tears went into every moment and every detail of the day. From the bouquets made by the girls (other then lindsays bouquet, which was made by Karen at Schakel Greenhouses), to her dad making the bar, to an uncle making the cafe lighting outside the tent to the mothers growing the lavender themselves that you see through all the arrangements, so incredible.

L + K, I hope I captured your day perfectly and I can't wait for you guys to see ALL the pics

rosie + dave | downtown toronto winter wedding | 02.27.16

This wedding was not only beautiful, but so much fun. Rosie & Dave chose the Story's building as their venue which was a first for me, but I just loved it and hope I can return soon!

Rosie & Dave, whom I didn't know too well before the wedding, I feel like I know very well and love since the wedding. From Rosie walking down the aisle to Ozzy, to the "nailed it!"'s through out the day, to the laughs and tears during the reception and to the best darn first dances I have EVER seen.

R & D, you are so much fun and I am happy I got to witness such a great wedding. Rachel & Rebecca, thank you for introducing me to Ms Rosie, you both rock!

Big thanks to my second shooter, Lindsay Nemeth, you also rock!

Enjoy the peek at your photos and can't wait for you to see the rest!

Behind the Scenes in Costa Rica

For those who don't know yet, on top of being a photographer and freelance graphic designer I am also the Creative Director at Photographers Without Borders(PWB). With PWB, I have seen countries and met people I may of never had the chance too, and it has been incredible.

On February 2, I left for Costa Rica for the second PWB Photodocumentary Workshop to help Danielle Da Silva (the founder) facilitate the workshop and capture behind the scenes footage (both photo & video). Here are a few of my favorites!

Interested in taking one of our workshops? The next one is full in May but our fall one will be announced soon!

Favorite Cakes/Dessert tables of 2015

5. Jess & Luke, London ON, August 2015 - This adorable/yummy cake was created by Jess' friend, Ashley Farr. Ashley has some amazing skills and gets another mention in #2.

4. Rachel & Matt, London ON, September 2015 - This beautiful cake was created by one of my other brides (who was in Rachel's bridal party), Rebecca.. Rebecca is incredible at what she does and I love the unique look of this cake. Check out Rebecca's wedding here.

3. Taylor & Sarah, Toronto ON, August 2015 -I absolutely loved the color palette for their table but I think it was the little banner on top that won me over!

2. Shauna & Brett, London ON, October 2015 - This beautiful cake, again, was created by Ashley Farr. She has some incredible talent and is still new to the industry. Can't wait to see where her skills take her!

1. Number one has to be this beautiful 3 tier (each tier a different flavour), "naked" style cake created by the Bride, Sharon. Sharon is one talented lady when it comes to baked goods but also just a creative person in general. Two of Sharons bouquets made my favorite flowers of 2015 list. You can see those here.

Top 5 Bridal Bouquets of 2015

I believe this was the year of brides making their own arrangements and also the "gathered" look, both of which I love. Here are a few of my favorite bouquets I saw this year.

5. Vannessa, The Doctors House in Kleinberg, June 2015 - this was a bouquet she made herself filled with roses and it was simple and beautiful. She also did all of the table arrangements for her wedding and everything was stunning.

4. Sarah, Berkeley Church, August 2015 - Another rose filled beauty created by their Floral Designer, Ashton Creative, based out of Toronto. She has an amazing portfolio, click here to see.

3. Sharon, Ceremony at City Hall in Toronto, August 2015 - This beautiful and talented lady gets two mentions on this list because well, both her bouquets are incredible. This bouquet was created by Botany Studio in Toronto. Their florals are always unique, colorful and just plain old gorgeous.

2. Sharon, Reception in Muskoka ON, August 2015 - Now, this bouquet was created by Sharon and I couldn't of loved it more. It photographed beautifully, it was unique, it had the "gathered" look, it had flowers I had never seen before in my life.. just perfect!

1. Shauna - It was a tough call but Shauna's bouquet had to be my top choice, it had kale in it! In my opinion, Shauna's bouquet brought together all the elements that (I think) make a stunning arrnagement; gathered, depth, multiple shades of the same colour, unique flowers, AND KALE. This arrangement was created by Earthen Elegance in London ON.
